GOAT đđ (2026)
From Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and KPOP Demon Hunters to the upcoming Steph Curryâproduced animated basketball film GOAT, Sony Pictures Animation is on a heat-check hot streak, and after this watch, theyâre showing no signs of cooling off.
GOAT follows Will Harris, an undersized goat with oversized dreams. By day, heâs a food delivery driver. By night, heâs an aspiring basketball player, chasing a shot at the big leagues. Everything changes when a 1-on-1 pickup run against one of the Roarball leagueâs elite goes viral. Overnight, Will becomes a sensation. The clip catches the attention of a desperate franchise owner, who signs him to the leagueâs basement-dwelling squad. The team is led by the renowned âGreatest of All Time,â Jett Filmore, who may not be what he once was and is hard-pressed to make room for this undersized, inexperienced newcomer.
What unfolds is more than an underdog story. Itâs about loving a game that doesnât always love you back. Itâs about legacy vs. hunger. Ego vs. belief. Old guard vs. next up.
GOAT gets a serious two hooves up from me. I loved it.
The same way Space Jam (1996) and Like Mike (2002) inspired a generation of kids to pick up a ball and reach for the sky, GOAT feels poised to do the same, especially for those navigating their own David vs. Goliath battles.
Itâs built for anyone whoâs ever felt undersized, overlooked, or underestimateâand decided to hoop anyway.
Stranger Thingsâ Caleb McLaughlin leads an all-star voice cast including Gabrielle Union, Aaron Pierre, Nicola Coughlan, David Harbour, Jelly Roll, Jennifer Hudson, Andrew Santino, Bobby Lee, and Steph Curry.
GOAT feels like NBA 2K if it collided with Super Smash Bros. in the middle of a playoff game. Itâs chaotic in the best way. Stylized. Explosive. Designed for the generation that grew up on highlight culture and battle royale lobbies, and it absolutely understands its audience Whether youâre a hooper catching the deep-cut references (yes, that food poisoning nod, IYKYK), laughing at a certain superstarâs hair insecurity, or just here for an âundergoatâ chasing the dream, thereâs something for everyone.
Any basketball story that makes you want to immediately get shots up or run a pickup game has done its job, and GOAT does just that.
GOAT is a vibrantly animated, ball-is-life underdog story that bridges generationsâand proves youâre never too small to dream big.
Enjoy!
